The varsity team will face off against the Stoney Creek Cougars on Monday, March 3rd at 7PM in the opening districts round of the 2025 state playoffs. Come out and support the team as they look to upset district host and see if they can continue their season for another game!
All-LEague Recognition
Two members of the Varsity basketball team were recognized at the year end league coaches meeting for their performance on the floor this season. Violet Smith was selected as a member of the 2025 MAC White All-League Team. Alexis Petruccioli was recognized as All-League Honorable mention. If you see either of these girls, make sure to say congratulations!
NO PRACTICES 2/12/25
Due to the impending snow storm, UCS has cancelled all after school activities for the day. Practices for all levels are cancelled. Stay warm and stay safe!
2nd Annual Tisch "Hot Pink Out Cancer" GAme
We will be hosting our second annual Andrea Tisch 'Hot Pink Out Cancer' Game on January 28th. Andrea Tisch was a great supporter of all Utica sports and a long time member of the athletic boosters, and her husband and son continue to help out and support Utica sports in numerous ways. We will once again be raising money for the Capuchin Retreat Center, which is a charity that Andrea was fond of and was the organization that she requested we raise money for last year. There will be donation boxes for any donations that want to be given the day of the game, and we will also be selling shirts for $15 to raise money for the charity as well. Available sizes and quantities of shirts are limited, so please fill out the form to reserve your shirt if you would like one. Utica High School Student Council will also be helping out and selling shirts during the school day for students that are interested. If you wait too long or aren't interested in a shirt, we do ask that you wear hot pink to the game, which was Andrea's favorite color.
Fundraising is A WRAP!
We have officially wrapped up our TeamFi Fundraiser. Thank you so very much to everyone that donated, asked for friends and family to donate and so on. We were able to raise over $11,000 for the Girls basketball program with the efforts of the girls and your willingness to share and help us get donations, which is about double what we raised last season and I believe may be a program record (since we only started doing a fundraiser like this three seasons ago for both the boys and girls programs). We have already put that money to good use, ordering a new set of jerseys for the freshman team (which should arrive in early January 2025 shortly after Christmas break), buying the shooting shirts and Nike sweatshirts that all of the girls in the program have (so thanks for saving me, Coach Jay, from being out a pretty substantial amount of money and needing to explain to his wife and 5 kids why Christmas gifts were a little sparce this year...) and will help offset the cost of end of year awards and other expenses as they arise during the season. We truly cannot thank you enough for the willingness to support the program in such a large way!
Home Game Concessions Sign Up
We need volunteers to cover the concession during home games for the 2024 - 2025 season. All of the money raised goes to support the Utica Athletic Boosters, who then turn around and use the money to support all of the sports programs at Utica. The Athletic Boosters do an amazing job supporting everything we do and help us find ways to afford new technology, training aids, etc. to give your kids the best athletic experience possible while students at the high school. So if you fancy yourself a salesman or saleswoman who could sell sand to someone living in a desert and would be a pro at slinging pizza, pop, popcorn and candy at games, this is the perfect opportunity for you to help! And if you think your sales skills are as average as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then this is the perfect low stakes, low stress environment to sharpen those skills! Upcoming PArent Meeting
We will be holding a parent meeting on Friday, November 22nd at 6PM in the main gym. We will introduce the coaching staff, cover expectations for the season, fundraising we will be doing, special dates and more. Please enter through Door 5 and come ready with any questions that you may have!

We had 45 girls sign up and tryout for one of the basketball teams this year, which was six more than the 2023-2024 season (or a 15% increase). As a program, we are extremely excited about the additional interest amongst the girls in playing for the Utica basketball program and hopefully we continue to see those numbers grow! Cuts have been completed and rosters have been finalized for all of the levels, so a big congratulations to the girls that made one of the teams. Now the real work begins as we all prepare before our first game on December 3rd versus one of our UCS Rivals, Ford II High School.
